Hemant Brijwasi has indeed busted a forming-hat trick. Since two consecutive years girls have been bagging the title of Zee’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champ. But the third season witnessed a surefooted and gifted young lad from Mathura, i.e. Hemant who emerged a winner! As fated by public voting, Hemant was midway evicted from the musical reality show. However, post his wild card entry the boy fired all cylinders and battled it out in the finale with contestant Yatharth Ratnum. Hemant sung his way into the hearts of millions who watched the show and was finally adjudged victorious Catching up with this Mathura wasi in an emotional moment over his win, TellyChakkar unfolds a t?te-?-t?te with Hemant. Congrats. So how does it feel now? I am on top of the world and have achieved many things after winning. Now people recognize me. After my wild card entry I worked hard and my only agenda was victory. That was my thought and I finally won the competition. What was your game plan for the grand finale? We played the whole day and hardly had time for rehearsals. At the same time, I also prayed a lot. After bagging the title, what are your future plans? I want to become a good singer, so I will work diligently to achieve my goal. One day I will prove myself by becoming a versatile singer. Any offers in the waiting? Yes, I am getting lots of offers. Recently I lent my voice for a jingle for Fevicol which will be aired within a week. Coming back to the show, were you confident of getting through the wild-card? Yes, I was very much confident because I had worked towards it. I felt it arriving my way when Zee came with the offer. On days when the judge’s comments were not in your favour, how would you feel? Their comments were justified as they knew where I was wrong. It drew my attention to where I was lacking and in fact helped me to improve my singing. It is only because of their comments that I had corrected myself and have become a better singer. How was your rapport with co-contestants, Shreyasi and Yatharth? Shreyasi and Yatharth are my very good friends. Who was your biggest competitor? I was competing with myself. Shreyasi and Yatharth are very good singers. I never got an opportunity to sing a duet with them but today I got that opportunity and it was fun. Tell us something about your family. I belong to a normal middle class family and had faced many difficulties in the past. Now I want to support my parents who have helped me to win the competition. I want to thank them for everything. Whatever I am today is just because of them and I would like to give them the credit for my win. Who is your guru? My father Hukumchand Brijwasi is my guru and I have learnt singing from him. He is also a professional singer. How did you manage your studies? It was difficult. Not just me, all my fellow contestants would get books along with them and would study whenever time permitted. I have missed this year so next year too I will have to study in class six. Nevertheless, I will get a chance to study in a better school in Mathura as I have got a scholarship from them. Studies are very crucial so I will continue my schooling along with my riyaaz. I will accept offers only if I will be able to manage it with my studies.
