Delnaaz Irani to sport eight different get-ups for 1760 Sasumaa

Delnaaz Irani

Seasoned actress Delnaaz Irani is happy and excited over her entry in the very popular Colors Gujarati show, 1760 Sasumaa, produced by Meenaa Gheewaala Telefilms.

Yes, the talented actress has been roped in to essay the role of a cop. And what is more interesting about the role is the fact that Delnaaz will get to don eight different get-ups for the cameo role that will run for about 8 episodes.

Says Delnaaz, “Yes, I am glad that I got a chance to play a part in this very popular show, 1760 Sasumaa. The experience has been enriching as I got to play linguistically different characters with different get-ups. I play a cop who helps Ketki Dave’s character to solve a particular case. Though I am a Gujarati in addition to being a Parsi, I have not dealt in depth when it comes to the language. And this experience was very good.”

On the kind of characters she donned, the actress avers, “While I played a man sporting a moustache and a pagdi, I also played an old lady. One of the characters was of a ‘gaon ki chori’, while one was more modern.”

For Delnaaz, lot of factors facilitated her to take up this role. “Firstly, the experience of being part of a popular regional show was huge enough. And I got my first opportunity to share screen space with good friend, Ketki Dave. Above all, the producer of 1760 Sasumaa wanted me to play this role, and was adamant that I take it up. Also, the director Homi Wadia is a very good friend, and a nice person to work with.”

The actress sums it up saying, “Of late, I wanted to do something new, but was occupied with Akbar Birbal and Jamai Raja. As soon as Akbar Birbal ended, I got this opportunity and did not want to lose it.”

Delnaaz’s character in 1760 Sasumaa will go on air from tonight, and the actress is confident of winning her fans’ hearts with the wonderfully different get-ups that she will be seen in.

Delnaaz, all the very best!!
