Sticking to its titillating franchise, Hate Story 3's trailer begins with a raunchy sex scene, setting the premise of the movie without losing any time. With a fresh star cast, the third instalment looks much more promising than its prequels.
Sharman Joshi and Zarine Khan play a power-couple whose lives go for a major toss when Karan Singh Grover sets his eyes on the latter. His only wish is to sleep with her, whatever the cost may be. While the plot reminds us of American hit Indecent Proposal, the treatment is hallmark Bollywood.
Sharman, who has been missing from films for a while now, makes a rather bold comeback, what with his erotic making-out with Zarine. His role better be a powerful one, else all the lust-filled acting would be for nothing.
Even though it’s a tad difficult for us to see our favorite funny man getting it on with a busty lady, we are sure (*praying fervently*) that there’s a reason for all this in the plot than Sharman’s sheer desperation to get back in the big league. He does shine in his role as the husband-whose-wife-is -another-man’s lust…so there’s hope.
Coming to the other man, KSG as Karan is popularly known, breezes through his antagonist part…probably because he is known for his Casanova streaks in real life as well. His six-pack abs, perfect smile and God made-up hair make him look yummy on the screen, but when he is making out with the ladies, he looks rehearsed, resistant and almost emotionless. Well, that could be the demand of the script. We need to wait and watch.
Zarine Khan, whose only fame till now was that she looked kinda similar to Katrina Kaif, has a meaty role that she blows away with her screechy voice and expressionless face. But she makes up for it in the bust and thrust department.
Daisy Shah, in her second Bolly outing, is an enigmatic character in the movie who may or may not be the ultimate twist in the tale.
True to thrillers, the promo gives us a glimpse into the world of the lead four without revealing who the baddie is and who’s pretending to be one.
As shocking as it sounds, what actually stand out are the realistic love-making scenes that are played out amid the haunting 90’s number ‘Tumhe Apna Banane ki…’ The song, a reboot of Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak original, can become the next ‘Aaj Phir Tum pe Pyaar Aaya…’
If the trailer is anything to go by, Hate Story 3 looks capable of bringing the janta to the theaters...not because of the jollies in the sack, but also for its talented cast (we are rooting for Sharman) and intriguing plot.
It sure looks like a raunchy saga with a sensational twist.
The movie, directed by Vishal Pandya, releases on December 4, 2015.
