People shouldn't believe in saints blindly: Samridh Bawa

Samridh Bawa

After impressing the world as LD on Life OK’s Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali, Samridh Bawa is lapping up all the praises as the grey-shaded Mahant on &TV’s Gangaa.

Tellychakkar.com got chatty with the actor where he spoke about his new character and his bond with little Gangaa aka Ruhana Khanna.

Being a young actor, why did you take a role of a saint?

I took this role only because of two things. First, it’s a cameo and secondly, it’s a hatke role. I wanted to know how my negative character would be perceived, so I took up this role.

What preparation did you do for this role?

This decision of taking up the show was an instant one, so there was no time for preparations.

How has the experience of playing a saint been?

It has been amazing. An actor should always try something new. It is also a message and a lesson for all the blind followers of saints.

Do you believe in saints?

No offence, but I don’t believe in them. I believe in God. Just don’t believe in saints blindly.

How is your bonding with Ruhana Khanna?

She is a super cute girl. On the first day, when she wanted to talk to me, she didn’t know my name. Since I was in my Mahant's attire, she addressed me as ‘BABAJI’.  I couldn't stop laughing. Now she calls me ‘Samridh wah wah’ instead of ‘Bawa’. I absolutely enjoy shooting with Ruhana.

When will we see you on a daily?

Soon. Let’s see! I am waiting for something different.
