Sangeeta Ghosh praises season format on Indian TV

Actress Sangeeta Ghosh, who features in "Parvarrish - Season 2", believes that the trend of season format on Indian television is wonderful for actors as well as content makers.

The limited episode and time-frame format in fiction shows has caught the audiences' attention of late.

"I feel that the season concept is great. It is a good break for the actors and makers. You can come back again all fresh, and start anew because as much as you try, you tend to feel a little stagnated, and then you tend to repeat yourself," Sangeeta told IANS.

She hopes the trend is here to stay in the country.

"Although it is going to take some time, as the thought process of viewers in our country is different from those in the west," added Sangeeta, who has earlier been a part of shows like "Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand" and "Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara".

In "Parvarrish - Season 2", Sangeeta plays the role of a mother. She says it's a wrong perception that an actor gets categorised after picking such characters.

"This categorisation doesn't really happen. One should be patient, and good roles do come. I have no issues with playing a mother after '...Jee Le Zara'... my character here is very interesting. Yes that role was romantic... But this character (in 'Parvarrish - Season 2') too has romance with her husband in life.

"I did not even give this a thought that I will be playing a mother. Although I've said no to a lot of mother roles, but I found this role interesting," she said.

"Parvarrish - Season 2", which airs on Sony Entertainment Television, also features actors Gautami Kapoor, Sandeep Baswana, Vinay Jain, Deepak Qazir, Diana and Anuj.
