Nia-Ravi 'animosity' on Jamai Raja set: what really happened? Here's unfolding the REAL story

Ravi Dubey and Nia Sharma

A TV show set is a fun place to be. It’s an addictive concoction of energy, confusion, blood-rush, passion, creativity, teamwork, and of course, the majestic aura of stardom.

And with stardom comes complexity. An otherwise vibrant place of work wears a blanket of gloom and tension when two lead actors fail to see eye to eye.

The makers of Zee TV’s Jamai Raja (Grazing Goat and Sagar) faced a similar scenario when Nia Sharma and Ravi Dubey (Roshni and Sid) became amorous...oops animus towards each other.

A leading daily carried a report mentioning the ‘warring’ scene between the two and how Ravi’s spouse, actress Sargun Mehta, intervened to douse the fire.

So what really happened in terms of the relationship gone awry? How did things go so wrong?

To get a deeper perspective, we buzzed Nia and she opened up to us, for the first time ever on the issue.

“I have no idea how the entire fight started. I can’t recall the precise reason why we stopped talking to each other. We stopped interacting for more than year and a half. Yes, there was a time when we could not stand each other. Professionally we shared a good chemistry, but off camera we never bothered to mingle or sit and talk,” shared Nia.

She continued: “It’s strange that there’s no reason of dislike. It’s just that we started hating each other. Ravi is respectful towards women and he is a good man. But somehow we developed loathe for each other. There was a time when I got irritated with every action of his. I felt disgusted even if he sneezed around me. But now much water has flowed under the bridge and we have moved on.”

Sargun is the reason for the rapprochement, it seems?  “Well, not exactly. Before Sargun could enter the picture, I and Ravi had a small conversation. We greeted each other and then sat and spoke. Yes, after that Sargun did come and speak to me for some 40 minutes on the entire clash. I am glad she did that. Really mature of her.”

Didn’t someone else from the set make an attempt to iron out differences? “No, they did not and it’s good as that would have become a big gossip scenario. They allowed us to settle it on our own.”

Well, we hope Nia and Ravi will be cool both on and off camera in time to come.

Peace to all!!!
