This will come across great news to Pooja Bhatt’s fans as the filmmaker-actress is all set to make her acting comeback with a Bollywood movie, written by her father Mahesh Bhatt.
The untitled film is said to be the opposite of Pooja’s debut flick ‘Daddy’.
If the 1989 movie had Pooja as the ideal daughter trying to transform her alcoholic father, the new movie will have her play a drunk and depressed mother who ignores her daughter for her career.
“I am acting in a film. It is like ‘Daddy’, but we are doing a reverse version of it. It’s about an ambitious woman, who gets busy chasing her career and in-turn leaves her daughter to earn money and fame,” Pooja told a news site.
The actress, who’s making her comeback after almost two decades, has delivered many hits like Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi, Daddy, and Sadak among others.
While talking to the site about her long absence from the big screens, she said, “I didn’t do many films because I refused to be an arm candy. When my father retired from direction, I stopped acting too. But today people are telling many good stories and who better than my father to write one. That is why I decided to act.”
But Pooja was active as a producer and director, what with her films Paap, Jism and Rog making big bucks at the box office.
The 43-year-old actress is currently concentrating on her next directorial venture Jism 3.
