Finally, Kapil Sharma and his team returned to the small screen in their new avatars, and curtains went up for the much-awaited ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ as it premiered last weekend on Sony TV.
So it is a welcome to ‘success’ for Kapil yet again?
Well, undoubtedly Kapil Sharma’s return garnered eye balls big time. And his thought process to come up with something new, indeed gets a ‘thumbs up’.
And to see his old team get back together again, was also another ‘high’. So did they deliver at the end of the first week?
Of course, the first episode which went live from the packed house at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Delhi was real fun. The jokes were super funny, with Sunil Grover taking the cake with his deja-vu moment on ‘Gerua’ with Shah Rukh Khan.
Shah Rukh Khan was at his entertaining best, and yet again proved that he is class apart!!
Kapil Sharma and his team stood out and must say, delivered!! Their awesome chemistry was something to cheer about, and the visibility of each and every character was appreciable, barring one major let down that came from Ali Asgar.
Well, the man after giving innumerable interviews stating that he will now be a ‘man’, again appeared in one of his ‘woman’ get-ups again, and this was a real ‘thumbs down’ moment.
Agreed, the jokes related to Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi CM did entertain us, but they looked a bit scripted and lacked heavy punches and could have been more spontaneous.
The second episode saw the appearance of Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor.
Rochelle as the super hot nurse looked good, but lacked the momentum and skill when compared to her team mates. Maybe she needs to work harder (we don't blame you girl, these guys are magic)!!
Suresh Menon’s latrine service gag with Kiku Sharda’s scintillating banter regarding the diapers was indeed funny. Chandan Prabhakar was a passé, while Sumona Chakravarti could have been used more effectively. Overall, the concept of ‘society’ was entertaining.
The show is just two episodes old, and we can already see the team gelling together to keep the viewers entertained. Yes, we can say that they have done enough to get out of the ‘Comedy Nights’ shell, and here’s hoping that there are brighter days ahead!!
Cheers!
