The actor who is celebrating his birthday today has gained immense popularity as Jethalal in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Originally Dilip is from Gosa village (10 km away from Porbandar, Guajrat)

Dilip started acting at the age of 12. His first play was ‘Aie Ranchhod Rangila’, he acted as a statute for seven-eight minutes in the drama.

He was in Wilson's College (Mumbai). Later, in the last year, he joined N.M. Commerce College.

While doing B.Com, he got INT’s (Indian National Theatre) Best Actor award twice.

Dilip did piecemeal roles in various dramas but never thought of making acting as his sole profession.

First television break was Hum Panchhi Ek Daal Ke, then he got the lead role in Zaraa Hatke for Zee TV. He also acted as a Madrasi Rangaa Swaami in Kya Baat Hai.

He ha acted with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in numerous movies. Some of his biggest hits are Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Khiladi 420, One 2 Ka 4, Dil Hai Tumhaara.
