Deepika and Fawad to come together in SLB’s next?

Fawad Khan and Deepika Padukone

Our prayers might just be answered as there are rumours doing the rounds that Deepika Padukone would star opposite Fawad Khan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next movie on Rani Padmavati, a leading site has reported.

While there were reports that Deepika has been finalised to play the feisty queen of Chittor, Padmavati. Her obsessed lover aka Alauddin Khilji will mostly be played by her supposed real-life beau Ranveer Singh. Now reports suggest that her reel husband, Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, would be portrayed by universally accepted hottie aka Fawad Khan.

According to a source close to the site, “Bhansali wants 200 days from all his lead actors, including Ranveer Singh (plays Alauddin Khilji) and Deepika (Padmavati). Fawad has those days to spare. In between, he has Karan Johar’s production, but it should not be a problem as KJo and Bhansali share a good equation. So they will work it out. It’s too big an offer for Fawad to pass up.”

Reports further add that Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Ali Zafar were allegedly approached to portray the husband’s role. But considering the secondary nature of the role, the top actors refused to play the part, the site said.

Interestingly, when Fawad and Deepika walked the India Couture Week 2016, they looked like a royal couple. Moreover, during the recently concluded IIFA Awards, Deepika couldn’t stop talking about her love for the Pakistani actor.
