The day is finally here. Star Plus is all set to present one of its most ambitious projects, P.O.W. Bandi Yuddh Ke from tonight (7 November).
Starring Purab Kohli, Satyadeep Misra, Amrita Puri and Sandhya Mridul, the finite series is directed by Nikkhil Advani.

Concept
A television show with a gripping and intriguing storyline, P.O.W. Bandi Yuddh Ke is definitely one that we are looking forward to. It the Indian adaptation of Israeli series ‘Hatufim’ and is the story of Harleen Kaur and Nazneen Khan (Amrita and Sandhya) two women whose husbands — Sartaj Singh and Imaan Khan (Purab and Satyadeep) go missing action for 17 years post the Kargil war. The show explores how their lives changes after their husband return from captivity. It is a milestone for Indian television as it brings about a subject that has never been touched upon.
Cast
Industry’s ace actors are all set to come back on Indian Television with this show after winning many hearts in the big picture. Amrita is making her television debut with the show while Purab will make a comeback to TV after 20 years. On the other hand, known for her offbeat roles, Sandhya is very selective about her roles. She and Satyadeep, for their power acked performances on the big screen will surely impress the TV audience. Also joining the cast is Manish Chaudhary, who will play the retired investigator questioning the loyalty of war heroes who have returned after being held in captive for 17 years.
Actor prepares
To get into the character and feel of the army men wives, both the actresses had to really work hard. They mentioned that one can never imagine the pain and grief a women whose husband has been missing for more than 17 years. As for the men, Purab and Satyadeep had to train with weapons and get into the feel of army officials. They also lost weight and watched torturous videos to get the emotions of a captive prisoner right. The actors also worked towards getting the sentiment of a person away from his loved one and portray angst towards whatever happened with them.
Nikkhil Advani
Bollywood’s ace and critically acclaimed director Nikkhil Advani makes his television debut with the series. Nikkhil did a lot of research to form the show as it’s completely of a different genre compared to the other shows. The director has been spending sleepless nights over the project giving it 200% to change the grammar of television.

The show’s trailer garnered a lot of rave reviews from across the industry. From Karan johar to Sonam Kapoor, Kiran Rao to Kabir Bedi, each of them are convinced that the show will change the scenario and content of Indian television.
