Controversy has wrapped the set of Jamai Raja.
The ZEE TV show, from the stables of Grazing Goat and Sagar Pictures, has seen a cast casualty, owing to major differences between an actor and the creatives.
Let us paint the entire picture.
Actress Seema Pandey, who played the role of Neil’s (Indraneil Sengupta) mom (Naina Devi) in the show, as per sources, have been ousted and replaced overnight.
“Seema complained a lot about her character progress and also had lot of timing issues. Hence, the creatives decided to let her go,” said a source.
Seema’s role will be henceforth played by actress Kulbir Baderson (Tujhse Naraz Nahin Zindagi fame).
We reached out to Seema and she said on her part: “I was not happy with my character. I never wanted to play a dadi. They wanted me to sit on a wheelchair for a month, which I did not agree to and decided to exit.”
What about she being a cry baby, as alleged: “Asking about your wrap up time doesn’t mean one is complaining. The decision to move out was amicable.”
Kulbir remained unreachable for a comment.
