Supriya Pilgaonkar aka Ishwari contemplating exit from Kuch Rang?

Read to know why is Supriya Pilgaonkar aka Ishwari of Kuch Rang is unhappy with the show's progress.
Supriya Pilgaonkar

Veteran actress Supriya Pilgaonkar needs no introduction. The lady has ruled TV with her awestruck performances. Till date, everyone remembers her acts in shows like Tu Tu Main Main, Sasural Genda Phool and Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls.

Currently, she is seen as Ishwari in Sony Entertainment Television’s Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi (Beyond Dreams). The show initially garnered a lot of media attention and critics believed that it will add a new leaf in the history of Indian television. Sadly, things did not turn out as expected.  Kuch Rang has been crawling on the TRP ladder, ever since the airing of its first episode.

Adding worry to woes is Supriya's current state of mind.

She seems to be unhappy with the plot progression of the drama, an apparent drift from the initial planning, and she made her feeling crystal clear via a social media post.

However, she mentioned in a comment on the same post that she is not quitting the show and is committed to the project and will continue playing the character of Ishwari.

Tellychakkar.com spoke to Supriya to know more about her concerns.

"I am not quitting. The insta post came out of frustration and nothing else. I am playing a character with some regularity, as promised by the creatives, and a sudden redundant change in script can cause dejection any actor. Don't we get frustrated with traffic and then share it on social media. Something similar happened with me. I felt an emotion and shared it."

When asked on the reason of her disappointment, she replied, "When intially I signed the project it was not about a saas-bahu saga. In fact, it was a unique concept and character but currently it is progressing like a daily soap. I hate saas-bahu dramas. I would have been happy, if I was intially being told that the show is a saas-bahu drama but Kuch Rang is different and hence I was expecting something different. I don't blame the creative people as they too need time and a person needs patience to deal with such things."

She continued, "When I am given the screenplay, sometime the scene is written wonderfully and the next scene comes out to be out of context and hence I don't feel like enacting it. As an actor I need to justify my role. If I cannot, then restlessness seeps in."

However, Supriya is yet to speak to the makers of the show about her worry but she had a word with the creative team.

"I am going to talk to the production house. I have spoken to creatives. I am sure they will understand. Either they will convince me or I will convince them. Thay are fair people and will come out with a perfect solution. Now, I have decided that social media is not my cup of tea. I am here because my kids (the girls who play her daughters in the show) told me to join and talk to my fans. I feel this is not a place for me," she laughed and signed off.

We buzzed Producer Yash Patnaik, but did not get any revert till the time of filing the story.

We hope everything gets clear and audience get to see something exciting in the coming episode.
