Mishmee Das, who was last seen in the Bengali romcom soap Premer Phande (Ravi Ojha Productions), is away from television space for some months now. The pretty actress is currently busy with photo shoots. She is also travelling a lot and exploring new things. However, a workaholic, Mishmee wants to get back to her daily soap schedule soon.

In a quick chat with Tellychakkar.com, the charming lady spoke about her travelling, about getting typecast and many more. Take a look.

Tell us how is life now?

Good. Jobless and travelling a lot.

Considering the nature of your job schedule, you need to be jobless sometimes so that you can breathe and see the world...

Yeah, but not for so long...I'm a workaholic.

For how long have you been away from work…

Well, it’s been more than three months now. Not that I’m not working at all but I’m missing my crazy daily soap schedule.

When you return to soaps, what kind of a role you would like to play? Are you open to any role or you have your preferences?

Kind of both. I am open to any offer but obviously there are other factors also. Even we actors have a preference for the channel or production house.

What kinds of roles attract you the most?

Well, if you ask me, I would say I want to do all kinds of roles. Playing a different character every time is fun. But I was once told that I look too modern for Bengali television. So, that’s the thing people typecast me.

Have you ever analyzed what makes people think so?

I used to be a model before I got into acting. So, probably, because of my appearance and the way I speak people think I cannot play a typical Bengali girl.

Does this fact make you feel bad?

It does. It makes me feel very bad. I mean I should be given a chance at least. I think I can play both- upright modern and innocent rural girl.

In your personal life, would you change these two things (appearance and the way of speaking) about yourself to fit into the character of a typical Bengali girl?

Yes, if I really want to do a character and if that character demands me to look a certain way then I would definitely change my looks so that I can fit into that look, be it a typical Bengali girl or an athlete or anything for that matter.

Considering the fact that you are a workaholic, how are you utilizing your days?

For the past two years, I have worked day in and day out. I did two back to back shows without any gap so I really needed this break but I want to get back (to soaps) as soon as possible. But yes, I could do a lot of photo shoots in between which wasn’t possible earlier because of my schedule. Also, I was travelling a lot. I made trips to Mumbai, Pune, Shillong and Guwahati.

Who were your companions in the trips?

Mostly, my friends. There was this music festival going on in Shillong so I went there with a group of 25 people. So, yeah, making random plans with friends and travelling.

Last question…what’s your relationship status? Are you single?

Well, it’s complicated. I am single but not ready to mingle.
