Young actress Amandeep Sonkar says that the role of Niru in Zee Bangla’s ‘Stree’ (Blues) is quite challenging for her.
“In Stree, I am playing the role of a strong girl, who supports her family and after marriage supports her husband too. She is not afraid of anyone and nothing can let her down. All in all it’s a very strong role.”
“However, I would say for a non-Bengali, it’s a challenging role. Niru is a typical Bengali girl. If it were a modern character than I think it would have been much easier to deliver dialogues as in that case I would have talked in Bengali as we all as English,” she adds.
So, aren't you comfortable speaking Bengali? She answers with a smile, “Of course, I can speak Bengali. I was born and brought up in Kolkata.”
How did she bag the role? She quips, “The team was looking for the female face and it was my mother who had sent my photographs to the team. I am thankful to Snehasish da (Snehasish Chakraborty of Blues Production) that he chose me for the role. It is because of him I am here today.”
The pretty girl is currently in her 12th Standard. So, how she is balancing her studies along with acting? “I study in between breaks and at night. I am in 12 so I have to balance both.”
Great going, young girl!
