Aakash Aath’s ‘Satyamev Jayate’ shoots with real snake

The new track of Aakash Aath’s investigative show Satyamev Jayate (SMJ) will focus on the superstitions revolving around snake charmers and for this the team shot with a real snake. To know more about the same, Tellychakkar.com got in touch with the lead actress of the show, Shampa Banerjee, who is donning the look of a snake charmer woman for the new track. She said, “Yes, in the coming episodes, I will be seen as a snake charmer woman and later as a snake Goddess, 'Sarpamata'.” When asked how was it to dress like a snake charmer, she said, “Of course, it was an exciting experience to dress and behave like them but as I have told you earlier also…each and every character which I play in SMJ for different operations excites me and delights me.” For the uninitiated, she has earlier donned the looks of Santhal girl, sales girl, tapori, Sita, Gujrati woman, Marathi girl, village girl, maid from canning, writer, nun etc. Talking about the type of snake which has been used for shooting, she shared, “The common krait e.i. keute has been used but without the venom.” And guess what, readers? The actress is scared of snakes! Considering the fact that she is scared of snakes, what was her reaction when she was told that she will have to shoot with a real snake? Replied Shampa, “As I had already shot with a snake in a previous episode...I thought it would not be that difficult.” The actress also mentioned that they had a funny shooting experience. She shared, “The whole shoot was funny...as I was so scared to even hold its (snake’s) box...that I was behaving strange and it was hilarious for the unit members...though in a prior episode of SMJ I have held a snake but this one was much more energetic than the previous snake; it was moving so fast with hisses...finally I could not hold it...I was too scared.” Interesting experience, we must say!
