RIP: TV stars who died young

Actors and actresses who play a vital role on TV screen inspire us, entertain us and become an integral part of our life. There are numerous TV stars who met with a sad demise and then there are those who put an end to their lives or developed health issues. Such turn of events of course upset their fans’ by breaking their hearts.  
 
We are unfolding names of some of the actors of TV who putting an end to their starry life died at a young age. Some of the TV stars who died young include Sonika Chauhan, Pratyusha Banerjee, Nafisa Joseph, Kuljeet Randhawa, Taruni Sachdeva, Abir Goswami, Sanjit Bedi, Rubina Shergill and Rasika Joshi.
 
Sonika Chauhan

Sonika Chauhan, also known as Sonika Simone Singh Chauhan, was a famous model, an anchor with several channels like NDTV Prime, Star Sports, and VJ in Channel V. The model cum anchor was also a contestant of Femina Miss India and Miss Diva in 2013. She was one of the famous faces in the modelling industry and achieved a lot of fame in a short span of time. A fitness enthusiast, Sonika was very fond of sports. At the age of only 28, she had a successful career when it was abruptly ended owing to an accident in Kolkata.
 
Pratyusha Banerjee
 
Balika Vadhu fame Pratyusha Banerjee was also the contestant of reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (season 5), Bigg Boss 7 and Power Couple. The Jamshedpur girl had earned several awards for her work in the field of entertainment. She died at the age of 26. The reason for her death was suicide but it has been claimed that it was a cold blooded murder. 
 
Nafisa Joseph 

Born on 28 March, 1978, Nafisa Joseph was a successful Indian model and Video Jockey. Her father, Nirmal Joseph, was a Keralite Syrian Christian and mother, Usha Joseph, was a Bengali, who was a descendant of Tagore and first cousin of Sharmila Tagore. Nafisa had acted in many TV serials like CATS on Sony Television. She committed suicide because her wedding with Businessman Gautam Khanduja, who was supposedly married, was called off. She died at the age of 26. 
 
Kuljeet Randhawa
 
Kuljeet Randhawa, the former Gladrags model, was known for her portrayal of bold and strong women-centric characters. A dusky beauty, she is best known for her work in TV series like C.A.T.S., Special Squad and Kohinoor. It is said that the Asansol girl committed suicide due to pressure. However, in her suicide note, she had accused her co-star Uday Bhanu for abetting her suicide. She cut short her life on February 8, 2006 at the age of 30.

Taruni Sachdeva
 
Taruni Sachdeva, popularly known as ‘Rasna Girl’, had worked in several TV serials and commercials. Born on 14 May, 1998, she had more than 50 commercials to her credit. She was especially famous for her Rasna commercial with actress Karishma Kapoor. Being the most highly paid and busiest child actress of her time, she had acted with Amitabh Bacchan, Abhishek Bacchan and Vidya Balan in the Hindi film Paa. She had also acted in two Malayalam films: Vellinakshtram and Sathyam. She died at the age of 14 in an aircraft crash in Nepal in 2012.
 
Abir Goswami
 
Born on April 21, 1976 in Kolkata, Abir Goswami had worked in many films (both Hindi and Bengali) and TV serials. He had also worked as a dubbing artist in the industry. He got a heart attack on 31st May, 2013 while jogging on the treadmill. He died at the age of 37. 
 
Sanjit Bedi
 

Sanjit Bedi shot to fame with popular TV serial 'Sanjivani'.  He also starred in 'Jaane Kya Baat Huyi', 'Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasman', 'Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka', 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' and few others. As per reports, Bedi was suffering from a brain virus and was in coma for some time. He passed away on June 23, 2015 due to a prolonged illness. He was in his late 30’s.
 
Rubina Shergill

Rubina Shergill became popular for her role of ‘Inspector Simran Kaushik’ on Zee TV's Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein, which eventually became her last show. Born on 11 November, 1982, she was also a part of Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein on NDTV Imagine. The actress suffered an asthma attack in a party, where she forgot to bring her inhaler with her. She suffered brain hemorrhage and silently slipped to death on 13 January, 2012 in Mumbai. She died at the age of 30.
 
Rasika Joshi
 
Rasika Joshi, who was a favourite of film-maker Priyadarshan, was a film, TV serial as well as theatre artist. TV shows like Jabardast, Khabardaar, Ghadlay Bighadlay, Prapanch were some of her notable works which made her popular. She had also authored a Marathi movie titled Yanda Kartavya Aahe. In terms of films, she had mostly worked with Ram Gopal Verma and Priyadarshan. She died on 7 July, 2012 at the age of 29 due to Leukaemia.
