What is your fitness mantra?

My fitness mantra includes basic yoga techniques with more emphasis on pranayam and suryanamaskar. I prefer to eat healthy and drink lots of water.

Are abs necessary?

Yes, they are. You can definitely maintain your abs through just squatting and dead lifting.

Share your current workout routine.

Week 1: I do full body split.

Week 2: I work on my upper and lower body

Week 3: I do a mix of pushups, pull ups or legs.

Week 4: It’s a full body workout week.

Who is your gym buddy?

I workout with my trainer and friends.

Share your diet chart.

Before workout I eat brown breads with peanut butter, dry fruits (just an old habit). Post workout (my most heavy meal) I eat one and half scoop whey, six- eight idlis, four–five boiled egg whites, an apple or Oats with fresh vegetables, four egg white, one complete scrambled egg or omelete with two–four slices of brown bread. Sometimes brown bread sandwiches, milk and cornflakes. My lunch comprises of Dal/Rajma(kidney beans)/black, white chana, four to eight chapatis, salad, curd, whatever green vegetable sabji. I eat chicken three to four times a week. No oil and ghee in dal and chapati. Sometimes I also include papaya in my lunch as it is good for gut and protein absorption. For snacks, I prefer black roasted chana, besan chilla; sometimes I also eat two to four pieces of idli and occasionally banana. Dinner is all about green veggies, two-three chapatti or oats with veggies. Before going to bed, I prefer one scoop/ one and half scoop whey, dry fruits.

Have you ever taken supplement to lose or gain weight?

I have never taken supplements.  I would say one should focus on workout and eat healthy instead of taking any supplements.

How do you stay motivated?

To stay motivated I always go down the memory lane and remember all those times I tried clothes on and they didn't look good because of the extra weight that I had. Or the times I wanted to wear shorts and wasn’t brave enough to wear or carry it.

For me, it’s not about keeping the motivation; it's about remembering why you started it in the first place.

How much do you weigh right now?

I weigh 48kgs now, which is fine according to my height.

Please share five quick fitness tips.

a) There’s more to cardio than the treadmill.

b) Don’t forget to stretch your muscles after each workout routine.

c) Keep the food and water intake going on in regular intervals.

d) Rest days are equally important as the workout days.

e) Don’t exert yourself. Start small and build -up.

What do you do to keep your cravings under control?

In the beginning it might be difficult for one to keep the craving under check but with due time you shall master the skill of keeping it under control. Distance yourself from the food you are craving, divert your mind by going for a walk. Take spinach extract. Eat healthy such as fruits, nuts, vegetables or seeds.
