Emilia Clarke bids farewell to GoT

Actress Emilia Clarke took to Instagram to pen a farewell note to fantasy series Game of Thrones after wrapping up production of the final season.

The actress, 31, thanked the show for letting her live the life she had "never dreamed she would be able to live" and said she would "never stop missing the GoT family" in the emotional post, reports dailymail.co.uk.

Lying on a bed of flowers, Clarke went make-up free for the candid selfie.

Donning a suede baseball cap and a navy faux-fur hooded coat, the actress captioned the image, "Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade.”

"It's been a trip 'Game of Thrones' thank you for the life I never dreamed I'd be able to live and the family I'll never stop missing."

She has starred as the powerful Daenerys Targaryen on the hit HBO series for seven years. And despite production being complete, the final season will premiere in 2019.

Millie Bobby Brown speaks out against bullying

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown used her acceptance speech at the 2018 Movie and TV Awards to speak out against online bullying, days after she deleted her Twitter account for the same reason.

The 14-year-old won best performance in a show for the second year in a row. Though she wasn't at the show due to a split kneecap, Brown still made an impression with her passionate words, reports people.com.

"I want you to know how grateful I am to those that support me," Brown said.

"Since I know there are many young people watching this, and even to the adults too, they could probably use the reminder that I was taught - that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it.”

"There should be no space in this world for bullying, and I'm not going to tolerate it and neither should any of you," Brown said, adding, "If you need a reminder of how worthy you are, and to rise above the hate, message me on Instagram.”

Brown deleted her Twitter account last week amid a sea of homophobic memes which attributed hateful comments and beliefs about the LGBTQ community to her.

The posts were frequently paired with #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown, a hashtag which first appeared online last November but resurfaced in June, which also happens to be Pride Month.

The origins of the memes remain unclear.

Brown is a frequent supporter of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

The 20-year-old, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, was leaving a motorsports store shortly before 4 p.m. on Monday when two men in a dark coloured SUV shot and killed him in an apparent robbery, CNN quoted Keyla Concepcion of Broward County sheriff department as saying.

Nicolas Cage goes by 'super 8 feeling'

Actor Nicolas Cage says his personal philosophy of filmmaking lies in the pursuit of what he calls "the Super 8 feeling".

Cage was at the Shanghai International Film Festival to tease his latest movie and walk the event's red carpet as a special guest. He also interacted during a media briefing where he was asked to explain his personal philosophy of filmmaking, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

He said, "The Super 8 feeling is what my brother and I used to feel when we made movies in the backyard with the camera our dad bought us when we were kids. I didn't care about awards or money... It was simply because we loved making the movie and telling a story."

Cage said he has experienced the Super 8 feeling just a few times in his professional life, such as when he shot Raising Arizona with the Cohen Brothers and during the filming of Mandy, Panos Cosmatos' recent horror film.

The Oscar winner said he also felt it during the recent shoot in Puerto Rico of his next release, Primal. The film is directed by stuntman-turned-filmmaker Nick Powell.

Amy Adams finds husband's parenting skills 'sexy'

Actress Amy Adams thinks it's "sexy" of her husband Darren Le Gallo to have good parenting skills.

The 43-year-old actress opened up to magazine Marie Claire about parenting her daughter Aviana Olea, 8, with her husband, reports people.com.

"It's sexy to see him raising a girl and teaching her how a man should treat her in a lovely way," she said of Le Gallo.

Adams and Le Gallo, who married in 2016 after nearly 15 years together, welcomed Aviana, their only child, in 2010.

The actress features in the series Sharp Objects, an adaptation of author Gillian Flynn‘s debut novel, which tells the story of a woman who returns to her Missouri hometown to solve the murder of two young girls.

"There's just so much truth in the darkness and the sadness and I'm willing to explore it now in a different way," she said of the role.

"Before, I thought people wouldn't like me or they would think I was crazy. Now I know I can navigate my own personal darkness and it won't consume me."

On the subject of aging gracefully, Adams said, "I want to do everything I can that does not involve needles or knives."

Why Sandra Bullock wanted to be fired from a film

Actress Sandra Bullock asked to be dismissed from a movie early in her career because of a "situation" she found herself in with a figure of authority.

"Very early on in my career I had a situation on a film, which was hard. It came from a person of authority. I kept deflecting it with humour and it didn't work. Finally, I said, 'Please, just fire me.' It was a lesson," Bullock told Sunday Times magazine.

"After that, I tended to remove anything that could be misconstrued as sexual. I locked it down," she added.

The 53-year-old star always tries to navigate tough situations with humour, such as an uncomfortable interview with the "Today" show host Matt Lauer, who spent four minutes of a 2009 interview with her questioning her about a single nude scene, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Asked if she regrets not seeming more outraged, she said, "That's how I've always navigated tricky situations. That's how I've survived."

When Claire Danes had less patience for 'the girlfriend' roles

Two-time Emmy Award winner Claire Danes says there was a phase after she did TV movie Temple Grandin when she had less patience for essaying "the girlfriend role".

Danes started her career at 14 with My So-Called Life, later embarked on a film career and then returned to the small screen and experienced a career rebirth through Temple Grandin, followed by seven seasons playing a bipolar CIA officer. She reflected on her journey during an interview for The Hollywood Reporter.

"It was an awkward period because I felt so stretched and so revived and robust as a performer, I felt very alive and ready, and there just wasn't anything worthy of attaching myself to," Danes said of the year or so after her portrayal of an autistic livestock expert in the 2010 TV movie Temple Grandin, for which she won Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards.

"After having met that challenge creatively, I just had less patience for 'the girlfriend role', and I just couldn't bring myself to do something two-dimensional, so I chose not to do anything at all, which was tough. It was kind of crushing after a certain point," she said.

Later, Danes received two offers -- one was to play a secretary in Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, her co-lead in Romeo + Juliet 15 years earlier, and the other was to star as a CIA officer in a pilot for drama seriesHomeland.

Not easy to find film with female lead: Helena Bonham Carter

Actress Helena Bonham Carter says it is not easy to find a film with one female lead, and that is one of the reasons she was attracted towards Ocean's 8.

"I like to do things that I haven't done before, and I'd never done a heist film. My castmates were another attraction because they're so extraordinary," Bonham Carter said in a statement to IANS.

"It's not easy to find a film with one female lead, let alone eight, so it's about time we had this kind of ensemble," she added.

A sequel to Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's trilogy, Ocean's 8 stars Sandra Bullock as ringleader Debbie Ocean, the sister of George Clooney's character Danny.

After getting out of jail, she recruits seven women -- Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina and Bonham Carter -- to help her pull off a jewellery heist at the annual Met Gala in New York.

The Warner Bros Pictures project will release in India on 22 June.
