Kolkata: Tonni Laha Roy is happy to be a part of the recently launched television series Tekka Raja Badshah. The Bengali serial, which is produced by Blues Production and airs on Star Jalsha, features Tonni as one of the leads.
The actress started her career with Tumi Robe Nirobe and later acted in serials like Bakshobodol and Bene Bou. She had key roles in all of them, but Tekka Raja Badshah is the first serial where she is playing a lead with positive shades.
Tonni said to TellyChakkar, ‘For the first time, people will watch a story of three heroes and heroines where I play one of the heroines. Earlier, in Bene Bou too, I was a heroine, but the character had a negative shade. So, from that point, you can say that I am playing a heroine with a positive shade for the first time.’
What do you think of Tonni Laha Roy?
Bene Bou also featured Chandni Saha in a lead role.
Speaking about her character in Tekka Raja Badshah, the actress added, ‘Here, my character is very positive. She is very simple, sober, and innocent, and has a motherly attitude. This serial has different flavours—comedy, romance, as well as emotion. I am really happy to play one of the heroines in this serial.’
So, does she see any challenges while playing this character?
‘It’s not that challenging to me because the character Tir is very much like me. The only challenge is the language, as Tir sometimes speaks in Odia language.’
