Remake of Zabaan Sambhalke scrapped

MUMBAI: Earlier, we had reported about cult show Zabaan Sambhalke making its grand comeback soon as a web-series through ALTBalaji as a platform. TellyChakkar brings to you exclusive news about a development in the show.

Our source informs us that the show has been scrapped by the makers themselves.

Shocking, isn’t it?

The original version was produced by Rajiv Mehra and Eagle Films and featured a stellar cast including Pankaj Kapoor, Viju Khote, Shubha Khote, Bhavana Balsavar, and Tanaaz Irani.

The modern version of the show also had talented actors like Sumeet Raghavan, Rupali Bhosale, Bakhtiyaar Irani, Rakesh Shrivastav, Ashwin Mushran, Tanu Khan, and veteran actress Soma Anand.

Our sources told us, ;The show has been scrapped, even though the cast had already shot for 3 episodes, but now the show won’t be airing for the audience.’

Producer Rajiv Mehra confirmed the news and said, ‘Yes, the show has been mutually terminated, and now the show won’t air, at least not on ALTBalaji.’

On being asked if the show will air on another platform, Rajiv shared, ‘I can’t promise anything as of now, as the decision of terminating the project was a mutual one. Let’s hope for the best.’

The show was said to be a 10-episode series and had made quite a buzz amongst the audience, as it’s been more than 20 years since viewers enjoyed watching the original. The series was said to go on floors by the first week of August.

TellyChakkar shall keep its readers updated on further developments.
