Russell Brand makes first red carpet appearance with wife after 2nd child

Actor-comedian Russell Brand made his first red carpet appearance with wife Laura Gallacher months after welcoming their second daughter.

They already have daughter Mabel, 20 months, and welcomed their second one over the summer, reports by media.

Despite previously admitting that fatherhood is "exhausting bliss", Brand looked full of life as he joined his wife in their first joint red carpet appearance at the British Curry Awards at Battersea Evolution here on Monday.

The couple is notoriously private and have kept their personal life out of the spotlight. But they cosied up to one another at the event.

Gallacher sported brunette locks instead of her usual blonde hairdo, which she styled in a chic chignon.

The mother-of-two looked sensational in a glittering black jumpsuit, whilst she layered up with a satin blazer and accessorised with a small clutch bag.

Meanwhile, Brand, who admitted last month that fatherhood had given him grey hair, donned an open blouse with leather trousers and a skinny scarf.

The couple walked down the aisle in a romantic ceremony in Henley-on-Thames in August 2017

Teigen takes baby son shopping after trolling husband

Model Chrissy Teigen took baby son Miles for shopping after trolling her singer husband John Legend on Twitter for not spending enough time with his children.

The model engaged in a bit of light-hearted trolling on Twitter as her husband was trying to assure fans he would make all of his scheduled engagements over the holidays, reports of media.

It kicked off when one fan tweeted her concern that the singer would cancel an upcoming show in Maryland, as he had apparently been double-booked for a tree lighting ceremony in New York that same night.

"Have no fear I'll be live in the flesh in Maryland on Wednesday," Legend assured her fan.

"I pre-taped my Rockefeller tree lighting performance on Thanksgiving Eve. See you soon!"

It was then Teigen chimed in uninvited, with a stinging, 'Hi - your kids."

The model showed him how it's done on Monday as she brought their six month-old son Miles out shopping with her.

The couple, who also share two-year-old daughter Luna, are no strangers to trading tongue-in-cheek barbs over social media.

Oprah Winfrey's mother dead at 83

Talk show host-producer-philanthropist Oprah Winfrey's mother Vernita Lee is dead. She was 83.

Oprah released a statement on her mother's death, saying, "Thank you all for your kind words and condolences regarding my mother Vernita Lee's passing. It gives our family great comfort knowing she lived a good life and is now at Peace."

Oprah's niece, Alisha Hayes, posted that Lee died on Thanksgiving Day, reports of leading publication.

Lee was born in 1935 in segregated Mississippi. She met Vernon Winfrey and they gave birth to Oprah in 1954.

Lee couldn't raise Oprah because she moved to Milwaukee where she worked as a housemaid.

Oprah was raised early on by her maternal grandmother. When Oprah turned six, she moved to Milwaukee to live with her mother.

Oprah says her relationship with her mother was rocky because of the long separation.

"I was asking the question ... what is a mother? What are you supposed to feel about your mother?"

Oprah was living with her mother when she was molested by her cousin and abused by an uncle.

Lee had another child in 1963 and gave her up for adoption. Oprah had not met her half-sister Patricia until 2010 and said she was shocked to learn about her long-lost sibling. Oprah paid for her college education.

Lee had a son, Jeffrey, who died in 1989 from AIDS. Oprah and Jeffrey reportedly had a difficult relationship.

It became a really dark, sad world for me: Amanda Bynes

Her drug abuse led her into a dark and sad world, says actress Amanda Bynes, who is now excited for the future and a return to acting.

Bynes opened up about drug abuse in an interview for Paper Magazine's cover story, according to leading publication.

After stepping away from the spotlight, Bynes described herself as being someone who had "no purpose in life" and spending her time being "stoned all day long." She also got into company comprising a "seedier crowd'.

"I got really into my drug usage and it became a really dark, sad world for me," she said.

Now four years sober, she has credited her parents with "really helping me get back on track."

Bynes said she is finally "back to normal".

"I have no fear of the future. I've been through the worst and came out the other end and survived it, so I just feel like it's only up from here," she added on a positive note.

However, "ashamed and embarrassed with the things I said", she added, "I can't turn back time but if I could, I would."

She hopes to design a clothing line, and is currently enrolled at Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising to receive her Associate's of Art degree in Merchandise Product Development. But first she wants to "get back into acting".

Bynes reflected on when she first started using drugs, recalling smoking marijuana at the age of 16:

"Even though everyone thought I was the 'good girl,' I did smoke marijuana from that point on." She also explained that despite smoking, she "didn't get addicted" and "wasn't abusing it".

But later she progressed to trying harder drugs such as MDMA, cocaine and ecstasy.

When she got her hands on the drug Adderall, its abuse continued to grow worse while filming the 2010 film Hall Pass.

Ultimately, "the mixture of being so high that I couldn't remember my lines and not liking my appearance" prompted Bynes to pull out of the film, despite reports saying she was fired, according to media.

She even dealt with having a negative body image, and in hindsight, she believes her thoughts were possibly a result of her being "high on marijuana".

Bynes also spoke about the time when she infamously announced her retirement on Twitter, something she considers "stupid" when looking back.

"If I was going to retire (the right way), I should've done it in a press statement - but I did it on Twitter," the actress said. "Real classy! But, you know, I was high and I was like, 'You know what? I am so over this,' so I just did it."

Timberlake postpones show due to bruised vocal cords

Singer Justin Timberlake cited vocal cord issues as the reason to postpone his Man of the Woods concert stop slated for the Staples Center here on Tuesday.

Timberlake has been plagued by the issue since last month. It has led him to shuffle up a number of dates, including performances on 24 October at Madison Square Garden in New York, his 28 October Buffalo, New York appearance and two Tacoma (Washington) Dome concerts originally slated for 12-13 November, reported by media.

He has rescheduled all of the dates other than Los Angeles.

Timberlake's next date is 29 November at Phoenix's Talking Stick Resort Arena.
