Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan’s friendship in danger thanks to Simmba

Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan

MUMBAI: When there is money and ego involved, every relationship and friendship fade away. Take Bollywood for example, where friendships are made and broken in no time.

The latest buzz is that Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar’s friendship is at stake. And the reason for this is their upcoming movies Zero and Simmba. SRK and Karan’s friendship had begun when SRK played the read role in ’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and the latter worked in the movie as an AD.

Karan had admitted in his biography that it was SRK who had told his father that he would act in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai if KJo directed the film. KJo had even said that every film he directs would have Shah Rukh Khan in it.

Recently, though, things have changed a bit. Shah Rukh is all set to release his biggie Zero, a film that is very important to cement his box office reputation. A week later, Karan Johar is releasing his production Simmba. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the movie stars Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles.

There are rumours doing the rounds both SRK and Karan Johar are unhappy with the present arrangement and are looking to get maximum screens, especially when Zero enters the second week. Rohit Shetty had said in an interview that one week is enough to end the competition, as earlier, there were coming on the same day, but then they had a massive discussion and postponed the date. It was a mutual decision.

However, as per certain reports, things have soured between the two over the last few days. The reason for the same is said to be the deal Karan and distributor Anil Thadani were asking from the distributors before the release of 2.0.

Karan showed his support for Zero at the start by showering praises for the trailer as well as the first song. He didn't tweet anything about the second song featuring SRK with Salman Khan. However, he did take the time to tweet about the Uri trailer the next day.

Likewise, even Shah Rukh Khan has not tweeted anything about the Simmba trailer that was launched a couple of days back. While these may seem trifle for an ordinary man, for Bollywood, such courtesies matter.

Many are unhappy that they are having a fallout over business matters.

Well let’s hope that these two reconcile their differences and things become normal. In these times of fights and hate, friendships and love are what keeps our trust in humanity alive!
