MUMBAI:Actor Shresth Kumar needs no introduction.
The man has done a handsome amount of work on television in popular shows like Ek Boond Ishq (Life OK), Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki (Colors), and Saath Nibhana Saathiya (Star Plus). Last seen in Udaan(Colors), Shresth has been missing from the television screens.
Do you wonder why?
Well, because the end of 2018 has brought in a good opportunity for Shresth with the release of his Bollywood film Dhappa today (14th December).
Produced by Kritti Films, the sister concern of Sarthak Chitram helmed by TV show and film producer Siddharth Nagar, the film will show the journey of a man who sets out to make his parents proud by working hard and becoming independent enough to provide them with a beautiful lifestyle but in the process, commits a crime. And from there, we will see how this simple man becomes a gangster.
This is a big day for Shresth as he is introduced on the 70-mm as the lead face and has the responsibility of the entire film on his shoulders.
We had a conversation with Shresth, and he excitedly shared, ‘This film comes in as a major challenge to me, because the story projects how a simple man goes on to become a gangster due to unfortunate situations and not because of choice. I had to be conscious of keeping the factor of sympathy alive in the audience while doing “criminal activities.” This is my debut on celluloid and I am excited and nervous about how it will be perceived as a lot of hard work has been put in by our entire team.’
When asked about his debut and career plans, he said, ‘Every actor enters this industry to do good films. We grow up watching film,s and let’s not deny it, Bollywood is fascinating. So, when the opportunity came, I jumped at it! The public should not be bored so that pressure was there, and that’s probably why I put in the best of my best efforts to justify my character.’
‘I want to share that I was injured and couldn’t walk but finished my shoot and did action sequences too. I had blood oozing out, but I wanted to make the best of this opportunity and I am in the end carrying a big responsibility on my shoulders.’
So will Shresth continue doing TV?
‘Of course! Whatever I am today is because of television. It will always remain close to my heart. Television has given me a lot and I respect it. I will keep doing TV and also look forward to the digital projects which are unique and strong.”’
