Rapper, singer, dancer and songwriter, Raftaar is a man of many talents. With songs like Dhakad, Toh Dishoom and Bandook Meri Laila, he has some of the biggest hits to his credit but there’s a side to him, the world doesn’t know about. Raaftar is an active philanthropist. Apart from being a brand ambassador of an NGO, he also runs an NGO which helps stray dogs and victims of human trafficking.
In a recent episode of Secret Side with Akasa on MTV Beats, the rapper candidly talked about his passion for supporting causes, his NGO and how he manages it. He also revealed the story behind his first hit song Swag Mera Desi and the place he sat down to crack the best rap. When asked about which contemporary’s song he would like to rap for, Raftaar said “It’s Kaam 25 by Divine. He gets Mumbai slang but I might get Delhi slang in my own way to the song”
Being surrounded by kids of Salaam Bombay Foundation on the show, Raftaar had a blast with them on his hit song Dhakaad and also taught them some cool steps. The King of rap promised to pay them a visit each time he is in Mumbai.
