Mackenzie Davis joins Kristen Stewart in 'Happiest Season'

Actress Mackenzie Davis is in negotiations to play the lead opposite Kristen Stewart in the upcoming romantic comedy Happiest Season.

The studio bought worldwide rights to the holiday-themed Happiest Season from the writing team of Clea DuVall and Mary Holland. DuVall, who directed the 2016 indie The Intervention, is also on board to helm what will be her directorial debut on a major studio feature, reports leading publication.

Happiest Season centers around a young woman whose plan to propose to her girlfriend while at her family's annual holiday party is upended when she discovers her partner has not yet come out of her conservative parents' shadow. Sony had no comment on Davis's casting.

Davis starred as the night nanny and title character in last year's Tully opposite Charlize Theron. She was one of the leads in the series Halt and Catch Fire and appeared in The Martian and Blade Runner 2049.

She's starring as a soldier-assassin in Tim Miller's upcoming Terminator reboot, joining Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Pink to receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Singer Pink P!nk will be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 5 February, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced.

The artist is recognised in the recording category and will receive the 2,656th star on Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the Hollywood and Highland complex, reports variety.com.

"We are thrilled to honour one of the world's most popular entertainers, Pink!" Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame said.

Martinez added, "She is a unique performer who leaves you in a state of joy and surprise at the same time. She mesmerizes the audience with her voice and her action-packed performances! Fans worldwide will join us in droves in Hollywood to see her honoured on her special Walk of Fame day."

TV personality Ellen DeGeneres will help honour Pink at the ceremony and will be joined by actress Kerri Kenney-Silver.

Pink entered the music industry as a member of Choice, the 1995 all-girl R&B group.

She soon began a solo career and released her debut studio album Can't Take Me Home in 2000.

The album went double-platinum in the US and featured two Billboard Hot 100 top ten songs -- There You Go and Most Girls.

Since 2000, P!nk has won three Grammys, three Billboard Music Awards, seven MTV Video Music Awards, two People's Choice Awards, two MTV Europe Video Music Awards, one Daytime Emmy, and was named Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2013.

Her discography has sold more than 50 million album equivalents, 75 million singles and more than 2.4 million DVDs worldwide.

Outside of music, Pink supports several charities, including the Make a Wish Foundation, Autism Speaks, Human Rights Campaign and No Kid Hungry. She is also a UNICEF ambassador.

‘F Is for Family' renewed for Season 4

Animated comedy series F Is for Family has been renewed for the fourth season for streaming platform Netflix.

The series was created by Bill Burr and Michael Price and follows the Murphy family, an Irish-American clan living in the 1970s, a time when political correctness was the last thing on people's minds, reports variety.com.

Burr voices family patriarch Frank, while Laura Dern, Justin Long, Debi Derryberry, Haley Reinhart, and Sam Rockwell also provide voices in the series.

Netflix also currently has several of Burr's comedy specials available, including I'm Sorry You Feel That Way and Walk Your Way Out.

F Is for Family is one of several adult animated comedies currently streaming on Netflix. Others include BoJack Horseman, Disenchantment, Big Mouth and Paradise PD.

Of those, only BoJack Horseman has been on the air for longer, with that show having been renewed for a sixth season back in October.

Conflict is interesting: Camila Mendes

Actress Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge in the show Riverdale, finds conflict "interesting" and she feels that it makes for good storytelling.

Based on characters from Archie Comics, the show follows the story of the residents of Riverdale.

Veronica and Betty aren't always on the same side in Riverdale. How is that to play?

"Conflict is interesting and it obviously makes for good storytelling. But even if there is conflict between Betty and Veronica, it's usually because they are hurt and because they care about each other. They are very protective," Mendes said in a statement to a publication.

"I don't think it ever comes from a place of malicious intent. It's healthy fighting. All best friends fight," she added.

Veronica always has a lot to deal with in Riverdale.

The actress finds it "gratifying to play characters that deal with situations head on".

"I think both Veronica and Betty (played by Lili Reinhart) are very confrontational and mature. It's a nice way to portray young women," she said.

The first season unravelled the saga surrounding the tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom. The second season of the show, aired on Colors Infinity in India, dealt with the mystery of the Black Hood.

What about season three?

"It's an eerie mystery. It's more that something is happening in the town, but no one really knows why it's happening. There's a phenomenon occurring. That's a better way to put it," she said.

"It's nothing like the mystery of the Black Hood. It's different. It's really creative, and I love that they decided on it. I know I'm being really cryptic, but I can't say anything else about it - apart from the fact that I can't wait for everyone to see what happens," she added.

Rosa Salazar loves to bend her craft

Actress Rosa Salazar says she loves to find new ways to bend her craft and create a character for a project.

"I love acting. And I love finding new ways in which I can bend my craft and use it to funnel it towards this goal we are all trying to create," Salazar said in a statement to a publication.

The actress will soon be seen in James Cameron's Alita Battle Angel, which will release in India on 8 February, a week before it opens in the US. Fox Star Studios will release the film in India.

"So, it was a combination of things that appealed: the writing, the pedigree, these two guys that know how to direct a woman who is dynamic, has a range and is fighting for something. All of that's compelling to me," she added.

Helmed by Robert Rodriguez, Cameron has produced the film with Jon Landau through his Lightstorm Entertainment banner.

Cameron and Laeta Kalogridis wrote the screenplay, based on Yukito Kishiro's magna series. The story is set in a 26th century dystopian future and follows an amnesiac cyborg -- played by Rosa Salazar -- who is rescued from a scrap heap and becomes a bounty hunter tracking down criminals.

Talking more about the project, she said, "I have worked with Fox for so long that I love them. So, it was everything really: the stars aligned for this. And I really wanted to be a Latin woman who is leading a studio franchise with a big budget. Just to show that you can be a Latin woman leading a huge budget studio film."

Isla Fisher jokes about producing sperms

Actress Isla Fisher has joked about producing sperms after her photograph was used in an article to illustrate the need for Redhead donors.

Fisher, 42, is known for her auburn hair.

"By attaching a photo of me to this article, it implies that I am able to produce sperm," Fisher wrote alongside a photo of the article on Instagram, reported leading publication.

"I cannot. Believe me, I've tried," Fisher quipped.

The Now You See Me star, who is married to comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, is a mother to three children -- Montgomery Moses Brian, three, Elula, eight, and Olive, 10.

The ad for redhead donors surfaced in 2017 on the Facebook page of Co-ParentMatch.

"Wanted Ginger sperm donors," the ad read. "#SaveGingers."

"Our female members are looking for ginger donors now! Only 2 per cent of our sperm donors have ginger hair," the ad continued.
