Actor Shahbaaz Khan has been seen in Sony Entertainment’s Dekha Ek Khwaab as Maharaj Brijraj Singh, who is Oxford educated and a highly sophisticated and stylish man. But just recently, the TV audiences saw him in a different avatar altogether in Zee TV’s newest offering, Afsar Bitiya. Shahbaaz plays the role of Tuntun Singh in the daily, who is a thekedaar (contractor) in Bhagalpur. “My character is very colorful and funny,” says the veteran actor, who has been in the entertainment industry for nearly 20 years now. “Tuntun Singh is not totally negative, but I would say it has grey shades,” he adds.
The show revolves around Krishna, who aspires to become a Block Development Officer, and the problem she faces to achieve this. Shahbaaz is extremely elated to be a part of this series. “The topic of women education is very important, but the sad thing is that very few people take it seriously,” Shahbaaz says. In fact, he thinks that women are the future of the world. “I think the future belongs to women. And I am honored to be a part of Afsar Bitiya as it is based on women empowerment,” he smiles.
Tellychakkar.com hopes the audiences get the message right.
