MUMBAI: Sakshi Tanwar, who earned critical acclaim for her television and film work, doesn’t mind playing the role of a mother or a grandmother onscreen.
In fact, the actress started her career playing a mother in the popular TV soap, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki.
In an interview with SpotboyE.com, Sakshi said, “In Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, I have not only played a mother but also a grandmother. I did the show for almost eight years and I don't feel have been type cast yet. In fact, when I started Kahani, I was already playing a mother. I had a daughter named Shruti. I played nani, dadi and don't know what all. And after all that I did Bade Acche Lagtey Hain, which was an all new character of a single woman who was not wanting to get married. After that I did 24 in which I played chief of Anti terrorist squad. Then I did Balika Vadhu as an antagonist and then again Karle Tu Bhi Mohabbat. I am a mother again now, in Season 3. In Final call as well, I had a very different character of an air control traffic chief.”
The actress, who also played a mother in the Aamir Khan starrer biographical sports drama film, Dangal, feels it all depends on what choices one makes in career.
She said to the portal, “It completely depends what kind of roles you choose to do. Of course, there were so many offers of similar nature but I didn't do them. Mujhe nahi lagta aaj ke zamane mein is baat ka farq padta hai ki aapne maa ka character play kiya hai ya nahi. Touchwood god always has better plans for me."
