MUMBAI: Most of us must have seen Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn endorsing tobacco through an advertisement. Recently, one of his fans, who is a 40-year-old cancer patient, went on to make a public request to him through posters to stop promoting it.
His fan Nanakram hails from Rajasthan and wants Ajay to stop advertising this harmful product. According to the patient's family, he was Devgn's fan and started using the product that he promotes. However, now, Nanakram has realized that tobacco is really bad for his body. He distributed around 1000 pamphlets in which he asks the actor about how much he or his family chews tobacco.
The patient's son Dinesh said to a leading publication that his father Nanakaran started chewing tobacco a few years ago and used the same brand that Devgn promotes.
'My father was impressed by Devgn, but when he was diagnosed with cancer, he felt that such a big star should not advertise this kind of product,' he said.
Nanakram has two children. He used to have a tea stall earlier, but he cannot speak now, so he survives by selling milk in Jaipur.
