Deepshikha wears director's hat; also acts in, writes, produces a big screen love story

Deepshikha Nagpal who was last seen in Colors’ Dancing Queen has turned writer, producer and director. She has written a love story titled Yeh Dooriyan which she is also producing and directing for the big screen. As expected, she is also playing the lead role in the film which also stars Kay Kay Menon and Chitrashi Rawat along with some new comers. She says, “I always wanted to be behind the camera and acting happened by chance, when Dev Anand offered me Gangster. I was also young and did not have proper guidance. But I am happy with my over-all journey for you can only put in your best. Success and failure are not in our hands. All said and done, I am quite popular compared to many others, who remain oblivious to the world.” She adds, “When I first suggested this story to my friends, they asked me to write it. I then decided to make the film myself as I did not want to explain anything to anyone, it’s my baby.” On playing the lead, she says, “The story demanded my presence. It’s not I wanted to re-launch myself. The film is pretty much today’s kind, woman-oriented metropolitan story. At the same time it is also a classy masala entertainer with good songs.” Yeh Dooriyan will release in August this year.
