The media is filled with reports that Sony Entertainment’s Saas Bina Sasural will shift from its current time slot of 10 pm to 8.30 pm from 16 January 2012. But that is not the case. In fact, the daily will be aired on the 9pm time slot and that too from 30 January 2012. This shift was necessitated to accommodate Balaji Telefilms’ new presentation Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada starring Mona Singh and Pawan Shankar that will premiere on 30 January 2012. Tellychakkar.com contacted Sneha Rajani, senior executive vice president and business head – SET, who confirmed the same.
Tellychakkar.com also spoke to the lead actor of the series, Ravi Dubey who plays Tej, feels that this change in the time slot is for the good “for we will get better audience at 9 pm”. In fact, he thinks that the current timeslot had worked wonders for the show. “The ratings had gone up from 1 to 2.7 TRPs since the launch, and it was not growing beyond that but our show has the potential for further growth,” reveals the actor. But is he not worried about losing loyal audiences at the old slot? He says, “No, I am sure they will come back at this new slot as well. Loss of viewership normally happens if any show is pushed to a later slot, but here the case is reverse.”
Is it why that the production house (Optimystix Entertainment) introduced a negative character in the show for the very first time? Ravi begs to differ: “Kiya’s (Rucha Gujarathi) character was introduced much earlier as a part of our efforts to bring in fresh story lines.”
Tellychakkar.com hopes the timeslot proves lucky for the show.
