HATS OFF to the team who cast Randeep Raii and Ashi Singh as ‘Sameer and Naina’ in Yeh Un Dinon...

MUMBAI: Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai on Sony TV is one of the most loved shows on television today. The story of Sameer and Naina being friends, moving on to a relationship, and later managing their marriage has been a visual treat.

But the news about the show going off-air disappointed many viewers and fans. There were more than 10,000 petitions and appeals made to the makers not to end the show. Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai planning to comeback with a second season cheered up the audience though. While the show is enjoying a good run currently and people are excited to see how season two shapes up, apart from the excellent acting and a crisp and structured storyline, another important aspect that needs to be appreciated is the casting.

We all are aware by now that the show is based on the real life story of the producers Shashi and Sumeet Mittal. Sumeet has been active on his social media, juxtaposing the real and reel Sameer and Naina quite often and expressing his take on the journey of his marriage.

Recently, he shared a picture of himself and his wife Shashi and wrote a long message on how he is feeling numb and overwhelmed on receiving a call from a 16-year-old girl from Bengal requesting him not to 'shut YUDKBH'.

He also mentioned that when they started the show, they thought it would created nostalgia among people about the 90s, but the story’s purity touched the hearts of not only the target audience but also the youth and teens.

Take a look.

I’m feeling numb n overwhelmed right now. Got a call from a 16 year old girl from West Bengal requesting me in an extremely emotional way that please don’t shut YUDKBH. People love this show from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to West Bengal to Gujarat from bottom of their heart. And we all are praying that it doesn’t end! When we had started the show, we thought it would create a nostalgia and will be likened by the people of our ages and era. But slowly the story’s purity touched the hearts of not only the target audience but the young and teens also...That was something! Something which gave the strength to our belief that pure and innocent love touches the heart of any age any era! And here... it hasn’t touched the hearts of a few but... the millions! For the unconditional love and support of the millions, will it be possible to express the feelings and emotions in words! NO... and this is what I’m feeling right now after seeing the love of the audience for Yeh Un Dino Ki Baat Hai. All I can say is that God is Kind. Shashi and Sumeet are blessed. Couldn’t imagine ever that one day these 15 years old boy and girl going to witness this beautiful miracle one day! Thank you so much for all your love Friends. Do good in life by spreading love and love and love! Gratitude #yehundinokibaathai #saveyudkbh

Going by the picture used in the post, we can say that the casting team has done a fabulous job with the characters of Sameer and Naina in the form of Randeep Raii and Ashi Singh, who look so similar to what Sumeet and Shahi Mittal looked like back then.

As an audience, we can relate to all Sameer and Naina’s journey effortlessly. Randeep and Ashi play their roles to perfection.

Hats off to the casting team of Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai. Way to go, team!

Sony Entertainment Television said in official statement, 'Sony Entertainment Television’s most loved show Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai which took us all back to our 90s giving us the nostalgic feels will be back. Kyuki..Picture abhi baaki hai (sic).' Well, we cannot wait to see what season 2 looks like. Will Randeep and Ashi be retained or will it showcase a fresh pair and new story?

Stay tuned to know.
