The return of Disha Vakani to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah as controversial as it gets

MUMBAI: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most popular and long-running television shows. The tale and the characters are immensely popular among the loyal viewers. Daya is one such popular character. However, fans have been wondering whether or not Disha Vakani will make a comeback to the show as Daya. Going by what all is happening it seems the return of Disha Vakani to the show is getting controversial with each passing day. There were rumours about her return to the TV series. Disha even shot for the soap, and just when everyone thought that the rumours about her return to the show has finally ended, came another shocking report. For the uninitiated, Disha had gone on maternity leave two years ago, and didn’t return to the show, saying that she wanted some issues to be resolved. Recently, it was confirmed by producer Asit Modi and a couple of cast members that she is coming on the show after all this time. There is, however, a twist in the tale. According to a report in BT, talks are on between the actress and producer Asit Modi, following which she shot for the ongoing Navratri track in the show. Mayur Padia, Disha’s husband, said, “She has shot for a portion of the episode, but our talks with the makers still remain unresolved. So, she will not return to the show for good. We are hoping that we reach an amicable solution.” On the other hand, Asit Modi said, “Disha has finally shot for a small segment, and hopefully, she will resume shooting for the show full-time. However, I must confess that talks are still on between us, and we hope to reach a solution soon. We have been in talks with Disha for months now. Like I said before, nobody is bigger than the show.” Speaking about the track, the sequence shot on Sunday shows Disha at the Ambaji temple in Gujarat, responding to a phone call about her return to Gokuldham colony during Navratri.
