Kaun Banega Crorepati 11: Anushka Sharma praises activist Sunitha Krishnan

MUMBAI: Kaun Banega Crorepati is one of the most popular quiz-based game shows. Hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, the show entertains as well as disseminates information and knowledge. The show also highlights several inspiring stories on the national television. Currently, season 11 is on air and has kept the viewers hooked to the TV screens.

This season, several contestants emerged as inspiration for millions and taught them not to give up on their dreams. On the other hand, there were special guests as well, during the Karamveer special episodes, who had won hearts with their efforts to bring a change in the society. One such contestant was social activist Sunitha Krishnan. A Padma Bhushan awardee, Sunitha is known for fighting against sex trafficking. Much to everyone’s surprise, the lady herself has been a gang-rape victim. Recalling the terrible crime, Sunitha told Big B that she was raped by eight men when she was 15. Furthermore, she also revealed the ground reality of the sex trafficking cases in India and said that the youngest victim she saved was a three-year-old girl. Sunitha’s revelation not just left the audience shocked, but even Amitabh Bachchan was left speechless. Later, everyone lauded Sunitha’s brave efforts in rescuing the sex trafficking victims.

Not just Big B and the audience of the show, actress Anushka Sharma was also appalled by the rescue stories narrated by Sunitha. Expressing her dismay over the horrendous crimes happening in India on Twitter, Anushka said that these dirty realities are shocking and hurtful. The actress also hailed Sunitha for her incredible work in rescuing these victims.

In another tweet, Anushka was all praises for Amitabh Bachchan and the makers of KBC 11 for bringing Sunitha’s story to their show. “We are grateful that people like her exist in this world. And kudos to KBC for highlighting such amazing people on the show,” she wrote.

Sunitha also expressed her gratitude towards Big B for supporting her mission. “Your compassion and courage to showcase our mission on KBC gave each Prajwala warrior extraordinary strength to continue our efforts & we will not stop,” she added.
