Romit Raj to star in a show with a Maharashtrian backdrop

Romit Raj who was last seen hosting Perfect Bride is playing a lead in Rose Movies' untitled show which will air on Colors' afternoon band Sanjhi Dopahar. A source from the show says, "The shooting hasn't yet begun. It's a story of a Maharashtrian family. Neena Kulkarni will play the mother and a known actor Vipul will play the father. Romit will play the lead while Hemant Thatte will be the second lead, Aarti Singh will play his wife and Akangsha, Romit's love interest." If all goes well then this show too is expected to start along with Ganga and Aise Karo Na Vida on February 8. "The family will be shown residing in a very small flat at Shivaji Park and struggles to make two ends meet. The shooting will start in a day or two at Kamalistan studios. The look is going to be very simple. The family believes in smiling through all the difficulties. Most of the actors with a Marathi background have been chosen as per the script's backdrop. A set of a typical Maharashtrian house has been erected. Most of the star cast was decided this week itself and since the launch date is pretty close we will have to shoot back to back," our source adds. Romit says, "The producers are the right people to talk about this." The buzz is that launch of all these shows may get pushed ahead by one week and instead of February 8; they may start on February 15.
