Vicky Kaushal and Aditya Dhar's ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’ to go on floors by mid 2020

MUMBAI: Fans of Vicky Kaushal can smile! The actor, who will be next seen in Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship and Sardar Udham Singh, has bagged another project.

Well, after locking the box office with URI: The Surgical Strike, Vicky and Aditya Dhar are all set to win the hearts of the film buffs with yet another dynamic plot. The director-actor duo will soon be seen teaming up for The Immortal Ashwatthama, a story revolving around the mythological character named Ashwatthama from Mahabharata where Vicky will play the titular role.

The film is to be shot in Greenland, Tokyo, New Zealand, and Namibia while the post-production of the movie is to be done in the US and director Aditya has been working on its script for over five months now. According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, the superhero film is slated to go on floors by mid-2020. Speaking about the character and the story, Aditya Dhar revealed that being Drona’s son, Ashwatthama is a brilliant warrior but also arrogant and egoistic as he is immortal. In comparison to other warriors of those times such as Arjuna and Karna, Ashwatthama has not been much spoken about. His imperfection is his USP and that's what he loves about the character.

The director also revealed details about Vicky's transformation for the film and said that the actor will have to gain weight to play the character of Ashwatthama but he will also have to lose it all during the course of the filming. He also left us excited saying that his look will come as a complete surprise for us.
