Stories of shows going off air have been making rounds in the media off late. But here’s some news that has come as a breath of fresh air. Chandragupta Maurya aired on Imagine has completed 100 episodes, today.
This historical saga went on air on 11 March 2011 and narrated the story of a little warrior and the teachings of his guru Chanakya. The show became a hit amongst the masses. As the story moved ahead, it was time for a leap. But owing to the success of the show, the creatives of the show were skeptical whether the audiences will accept the change or not as the leap meant replacing the little Chandragupta aka Rushiraj Pawar and getting in a grown up Chandragupta aka Ashish Sharma.
But the risk paid off well and to everybody’s joy the show completes hundred episodes today. However, that is not the only reason to celebrate. Apparently, the series will complete one year on 11 March 2012. The production house plans to have a joint celebration for the two on 11 March. In fact, this celebration will take place in Baroda as the cast and crew (shooting in Mumbai as of) will very soon head back to Baroda for a sequence.
Tellychakkar.com spoke to Manish Wadhwa better known as Chanakya of Chandragupta Maurya who said, “We’ve completed our century, hence the nervousness is going to increase even more. So from now on, we will be more careful with our work.”
