MUMBAI: DJ Snake has given numerous hits including "Let me love you" and "Taki taki", and he is proud of his work. He says every song has been a lesson for him.
His songs such as "Lean on" and "Turn down for what" were chart-toppers, but not all his songs have been fan favourites. Is there any song of his that he is not proud of?
"No, every single song was a lesson, a chapter, and I am proud of them all," DJ Snake, whose given name is William Sami Etienne Grigahcine, told IANS.
Last month he thanked fans for helping him make "Taki taki", featuring Selena Gomez, Ozuna and Cardi B, a 3x Platinum in the US. In fact, he has collaborated with Ozuna once again.
"I have just released a new song ('Eres top') with Ozuna for his album with Diddy. And we are working on other songs together. He is an amazing talent," he said.
How does he pick his collaborators? "(I pick my collaborators) if they fit the vibe of the song, or if they send me an idea," said the French artiste, who has worked with singers such as Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and J. Balvin.
His love for collaboration with others might take him to Hollywood, too.
"Maybe to work with some of the great animators and movie creators some day on a video or creative piece. I respect the art of making films," said the record producer.
For now, he is looking forward to performing at the Sunburn Music Festival 2019 in Goa later this month.
"Playing 'Carte Blanche' (his latest album) to my fans in India is what I will focus on, they haven't heard me play a lot of it yet and that will be a highlight," he shared.
India's influence on his music can be easily seen. His song "Magenta Riddim" was inspired by this country and its video was also shot here.
"I will always be influenced by India. It might not be another song but I am in talks with Bollywood at the moment and various people who want to collaborate creatively with me and that will happen in 2020," said DJ Snake, who would love to thank all his fans who supported his new album "Carte Blanche" and was part of this "amazing year for me".
