Vineet Raina returns on TV with Jamunia

Vineet Raina
Once upon a time television was synonymous with Doordarshan. But later, with influx of many satellite channels, the channel lost its appeal and today, it is hardly watched in the metros. It still holds a grip in the interiors of this country where cable television is still a distant dream. But off late, DD has been trying to churn out interesting shows and even marketing them aggressively. Upanishad Ganga is one such show which has managed to grab eyeballs. Now, the channel is all set to launch another serial, its in-house production, Jamunia which will revolve around a village in North India where law and order will be in the hands of Thakurs and not the government. It will also depict the injustice meted out by these Thakurs. And the makers have decided to cast Vineet Raina to do justice to the script. Vineet was last seen in Star Plus’ Mitwa Phool Kamal Ke and recently joined hands with Tisca Chopra to host a show on Zee Cinema. “Yes, I am currently shooting for Jamunia on DD. Creatively I am satisfied with the role. I will portray the role of an IAS officer who will be very honest and loyal towards his duty,” confirmed Vineet to Tellychakkar.com. Apart from Vineet, Richa Soni is also a part of the star cast. The show will also see many theater actors in pivotal roles.
