A new challenge for Abhaas

Abhaas the new anchor who has taken over from the veteran Shaan will now have to wear a new cap- that of an anchor cum singer. Though his critics feel that he may not deliver the goods Abhaas looks confident and even has a great repartee style. “Oh, it requires lot of hard work. Shaan Sir has been associated with Gajendrra Singh for so many years. He has uplifted the show to such a height that it’s going to be very difficult for me to maintain that position. But I would try my best to maintain the show’s status,” says Abhaas.
Being the jury’s choice wasn’t he upset at not having won the title? Abhaas asserts, “I did feel bad initially. I had worked so hard and my family has supported me and put in their efforts to make sure that I win. But I thought that something better is in store for me. Gajendrra ji asked me to wait by saying that he had something to offer me. But he didn’t disclose what he had for me. Later he called me for a screen test and there I saw a ray of hope. I gave it my best shot. I think if I won the title then I would not have bagged this opportunity.” How did he prepare himself for such a challenge? “As a participant on Voice of India, I used to closely observe and follow Shaan sir and so I had a structure in my mind of how the show is hosted. When I went for the screen test I added my style and humour and I just hope it comes out well on camera,” replies Abhaas. “My singing and my humour is my USP. Also I get along well with kids. I think I have a cute, child-like face with chubby cheeks and that helps me relate better with kids,” adds Abhaas. The children participating also echoed the same. They are very happy with their Abhaas bhaiya though they miss Shaan’s presence. A contestant said, “Abhaas bhaiya loves us. We are very happy with him. We get along very well. He is very friendly and kind-hearted.” Shaan also was all praises for Abhaas and his enormous talent. Shaan avers, “I am very excited because I recommended Abhaas to Gajendrra. At that time Gajendrra himself was very flummoxed by my choice but he trusted me and it is clear Abhaas is doing so well. Very soon people will get used to seeing him hosting the show. He has given a whole new and fresh approach to the show.” Shaan adds, “Anchoring has become a part of being glamorous, cool, trendy and with spiked-hair. But more important is that we show the passion of the performers, respect for the judges and love for music and that is what makes Abhaas a great anchor. He also has great command over his language which on the contrary I had problems with.” Lets wait and watch how Abhaas gears up for his new challenge. For more related news click here
