A data entry operator who gladdened audiences’ and Mr Bachchan's hearts when he went on to win Rs 50 million on Kaun Banega Crorepati season 5 . Now Sushil Kumar is back once again on telly. The difference is he won't be exercising his mental muscles; it will be his physical muscles that will be stretched as a participant in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 5. He is the thirteenth contestant in the show. Will he prove to be up to the task as he was on KBC? Says he: “I have never danced because I wanted to. I have just danced when people have forced me to but I took up this show as it was an opportunity for me to meet Madhuri Dixit. And first of all nobody is a perfect dancer here everybody has come to learn so I don’t think people will make fun of my dancing.” So what was it like meeting the heartthrob of millions, the lady with the killer smile? He chimes: “I told her that she is my favourite and also that I have been listing to old Hindi songs and I am not aware of the new song. She understood what I had to say and said that I’d manage. In fact the other judges too motivated me.” And how has the learning process been so far for? “Dancing seems to be easy to an onlooker, but let me tell you it’s not easy. I have been exercising and keeping a tab of my diet for a couple of days and it makes me cry at times. I love rice and now all I can do is just look at it.” Sushil has always been simple in his dressing hence; will he be comfortable in the jazzy clothes that he’d be wearing on the show? He confesses: “This is definitely something that’s out of my comfort zone but I am looking at the bigger picture now. I got to meet Madhuri ji and it’s an achievement for a common man like me. I will work hard and do how much ever I can. If I can’t I will let it go.” Will his wife be ok with him dancing and swaying with other women? He says there should be no problem. “My wife watches a lot of TV hence she has been more excited about the show than I have. In fact she knew my choreographer Alisha from her Dance India Dance days. She is more liberal than I am. She will never have an issue.” Sushil says that life has been a whirl after his taking the winner's cheque on KBC. He explains: “I gave my civil service exams this year however I did not fare well as I had been too busy attending events soon after I won KBC. But I am planning to reappear next year (2013). Things have changed now, earlier I used to just study now I have thousands of things to handle which includes investment of money and attending events. Hence I can’t say how well I’d do.” Sushil says the winnings have helped him settle his loans and also buy some property with the remainder being kept in a fixed deposit. Has he given up his dreams of opening an educational institute? He clarifies that he never said that he was going to open one. "It’s just that when I was on that chair I said that I felt the need to help people who do not have the money for education and I did help my near and dear ones. And practically it’s not possible for me to help everybody but I am trying to help the ones I can. And I am not doing this because I want name or fame." But getting on to Jhalak has been a good move Sushil. It will only enhance your fame.
