MUMBAI: Disha Vakani is one of the most popular faces of the small screen. The actress rose to fame with her portrayal of Dayaben in SAB TV's hit sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma. Disha played the role of a Gujarati lady in the show and her comic timing was simply impeccable.
While Disha has been away from the TV screens for almost three years now, the diehard fans are missing her presence in the sitcom.
The actress had made a small appearance in the show after a long time which left the viewers excited about her comeback. However, there is no confirmation about the actress' comeback.
Before bagging the biggest role of her career, Disha did a lot of theatre plays and made cameos in movies and TV shows.
The story behind Disha bagging the role is quite an interesting one. The actress was not even aware of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma being made. It was one of her friends who informed Disha that Neela Telefilms are making a show after which Disha decided to audition for the role of Daya.
The actress was fortunate enough to bag the role and the rest is history.
