MUMBAI: It was Kangana Ranaut who first started the discussion surrounding nepotism by labeling filmmaker Karan Johar as the ‘flag-bearer of nepotism’ in Bollywood. And, now, Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise has only added to the fireworks. A stroll down social media and you will realise how people are burning with rage over the actor’s demise and calling it a planned murder instead. As per them, the actor wasn’t given his due in Bollywood and succumbed to the pressure, isolation, and betrayal by certain bigwigs of the industry.
Ever since Sushant left us, Bollywood celebrities like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and Sonam Kapoor are trending on the top on Twitter with netizens digging out old instances and bashing them out and out. It is being said that only the star-kids are blessed with several privileges that hard-working and actors with godfathers like Sushant Singh Rajput are deprived of. Well, other than receiving all the criticism and backlash, Karan Johar’s follower list on social media, too, is affected. From Monday night to Tuesday evening, Karan Johar’s profile witnessed a rapid drop, as it went from 11 million to 10.9 million, which happened within twenty minutes.
Alia Bhatt’s profile has also registered a reduction of around 1 lakh followers on Instagram. Kangana Ranaut, on the other hand, saw a rise in her followers’ list, as it went to 3.2 million from 2 million after she dropped in her video about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
