MUMBAI: With a host of new shows being released every week on streaming platforms , filmmakers are leaving no stone unturned to promote their work on social media. But Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming show Rasbhari which features Swara Bhaskar as the protagonist seems to be stuck in some kind of a virtual limbo. Despite reports of a June release date, the show seems to have no buzz around it. As Amazon Prime Video goes on to promote its other web shows, it remains a mystery why the release date or teasers for Rasbhari remain missing from social media feeds.

The 10-part series seems to have already been created and produced and ready to be shown to the audience. In fact, the show has gone on to be selected at the prestigious SMI (Series Mania International) Festival in France earlier in the year 2019. Rasbhari has been selected for the Short Forms Competition section along with other series such as Break Up from France, Drive from Singapore and Hell Is Other People from Denmark. Despite its success, the series is currently unavailable to be streamed on any Indian platform.
Directed by Nikhil Bhat and written by Shantanu Srivastav, Rasbhari was produced by Applause Entertainment which is the content arm of Aditya Birla Group. Actor Swara Bhaskar essays the role of a small-town school teacher called Shanoo Madam, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, who becomes the love interest of a school student named Nand. Swara, who was last seen in the film Veere Di Wedding, has another similar project, Sheer Korma, which has no release date allotted.
