Anas Rashid, who essays the role of Sooraj in Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Pvt. Ltd’s Diya Aur Baati Hum, has just got back from the unit’s first abroad schedule at Singapore. An excited Anas talks to Tellychakkar.com about his trip and much more… For Anas, the trip was an unexpected, pleasant experience. “The people at Singapore were great and I was simply amazed with the response we got from them. Though they could not recognize me by my name they had a curious look on their faces, and it seemed as though they were trying to identify me (smiles). In fact, few people came up to me and asked whether I was a face from Bollywood; any Indian who comes there to shoot is considered to be an actor from the B-town.” Anas goes on, “I even got asked whether I was a big personality of the caliber of Shah Rukh Khan (laughs).” Ask Anas about the picturesque locations they visited in Singapore, and the actor quickly says, “We did not get time for sightseeing. Our shoot schedule was rigorous, where we had to shoot from 6am to 7pm. We made sure that we hang around after the day’s shoot and get a view of the famous locations.” Talking about the compliments he received, Anas goes on, “I have to say that people in Singapore are pro Indians, especially actors. I got presented with costumes, and various gifts. One memorable moment was at a pub where a woman offered me with food and few gifts.” Anas sees the whole trip to Singapore as an auspicious journey as he got to shoot at a few religious places. “We got to shoot at a religious place where a huge idol of Lord Buddha is situated. The place is basically a restricted one, but the guards were kind enough to allow us to shoot. And I feel that this was a blessing and a sign for our show’s bright future”, says Anas as he signs off. Indeed, Sky is the limit for the Diya Aur Baati team.
