Curtains down on Benaf Dadachandji in Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka

Hats Off Productions’ Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka seems to be in the news for all the wrong reasons. First, there was a speculation that the show might go off air due to low numbers (0.5 TVR). Now, comes the news that Benaf Dadachandji, who plays the role of Paulomi Chopra, has been eased out of this Sony Entertainment Television soap. Benaf confirmed, “I have not shot for them since the last two weeks. The story has now moved on to the wedding of Krish (Gaurav Khanna) and Rajnibala (Shrenu Parekh), so my character is nowhere in the picture.” She also accepted that the show had gone wrong in the beginning, “You can’t talk about Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka and only show romance between Paulomi and Krish, hence the low numbers.” She also refused to comment on if the show will go off, “I am not part of the team anymore so I am not bothered.” A straight faced Benaf further informed us that, “When the creatives had discussed the role with me, I had been promised a lead role. It could have been a love triangle between Krish, Rajnibala and me. But now with the changing scenario, it was reduced to a short lived cameo. There is nothing we can do about these things.” So how do you view this short lived journey? “It was fun. I got a chance to play a romantic character after essaying a psycho in Choti Bahu 2.”
