MUMBAI: While there was a strict lockdown of almost 3 months due to coronavirus, the gates of shoot sets have opened and the producers are given guidelines which they have to adhere to.
One of the guidelines also mentions prohibiting children and senior citizens above the age of 65 on sets. Well, while some actors have resumed shooting, there are a lot of young actors who have called it quits as they want to ensure safety from the virus.
However, there are talks about allowing them as they too would be facing a financial crunch.
Actors on the condition of anonymity said, “I think they should allow senior citizens as there has been a lockdown of nearly 3 months. They have been out of work and I’m sure they would be facing a financial crunch just like the others. “
Another actor said, “Minors and senior citizens are asked to be quarantined for a reason. They have a comparatively less immunity and are more prone to encountering the virus. It is only for their safety. In some cases, I’m sure that they are not the sole bread earners for the family. “
“With the kind of safety the sets are taking, I think it should be allowed for senior citizens to be allowed and it should be left on them to make a decision if they want to be quarantined or shoot. It is not like they aren’t moving out of their houses at all!” said another celebrity.
