Indian Idol's upcoming season has already begun on a besura note. While yesterday we reported how the cops had to resort to lathi charge to contain the crowds at the Delhi auditions, now we hear that the idea to bring in celebrities have been scrapped. Our source from the show says, "There were about 16 thousand people on the first day of the auditions. They waited for nearly four hours. They were getting impatient and soon started jumping inside from a wall, therefore the police tried to control them with a lathi charge. It happened twice and some of them got injured too." "Next day the auditions were cancelled due to security reasons. But today on the third day of auditions we are going to have a judges' round with the selected candidates. There won't be any more auditions in Delhi. We have had 100 security people but they were not enough to manage the crowd. Now we will take care to not let such a thing happen again for the Indore (on March 15-16) auditions. I think after this chaotic situation we heard that the channel is re- thinking about bringing in celebrities for the auditions. Though they did not zero down on any big name but it was said that the first celebrity appearance was going to take place in Delhi auditions only," the source adds. Danish Khan, marketing Head of Sony says, "I don't think there were any major injuries. It was just a madness of the crowd which some channels showed. The auditions took place as per our plans."
