Anchal Singh remembers the struggle of shooting in Manali for Undekhi

MUMBAI: Grand ceremonies and a hell lot of madness; playing a Punjabi bride is sheer delight. However, Undekhi’s Anchal Singh thinks otherwise. The beautiful actress who plays the feisty Teji Grewal, the voice of reason in SonyLIV’s original Undekhi has already garnered praises for her unabashed and fearless portrayal in the recently released thriller. In the end the way she takes Heroic turn which made her garner  her a lot of applauses. But, Anchal had a tough time playing her part in the series.

Blame it on the freezing temperatures of Manali, Anchal Singh’s bridal experience was nothing dream- like in the series. She recounts “It was indeed very difficult to wear the bridal outfit day in and day out for various days with lots of jewelry, make-up and hair. I had got real heena done on my hands, I remember whenever I had to walk, I had to lift my costume because it was too heavy to comfortably walk in. We had to wait for hours to get a perfect shot as there were hurdles while filming like snow, no sunlight, and rains but that did not demotivate us. Despite the weather, what helped me was the undying spirit of Teji which pushed me to the limits to shoot. During the scene where ”

Revisiting the magic and the divine energy of the mountains, Anchal says, “I remember shivering while saying dialogues as well as it was very cold over there and that led to a breakage in the voice. Then, I discovered an idea of jumping a couple of times before a shot. It looked kind of funny but atleast helped me get the warmth in my body to not shiver while shooting.”

Now, all that effort is worth it as Undekhi has struck the right chord with the audience. From the spellbinding screenplay to the intriguing twists and turns, this gripping thriller leaves you wanting for more. Watch it now on SonyLIV.
