MUMBAI: Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14 after reportedly hanging himself in his Bandra house. Since then Mumbai Police are rigorously investigating the matter and interrogating many people including some celebrities like his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, friend and reportedly roommate Siddharth Pithani, friend and producer Sandip Ssingh, YRF casting director Shanoo Sharma, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, his good friend Mahesh Shetty, Dil Bechara co-star Sanjana Sanghi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Aditya Chopra too. However, Kangana Ranaut, who has been openly talking about Sushant Singh Rajput's case and fighting for his justice was also summoned by the police on July 3 but couldn’t get in touch with the actress. However, she now responded to the cops and told them that she won't able to travel due to the Coronavirus pandemic as she was in her hometown Manali, as reported by India Today.

According to the portal, she has responded to Mumbai police through her counsel Ishkaran Singh Bhandari. She has maintained that she is willing to help l Mumbai police in this case but would also like to adhere to the lockdown guidelines. The portal also mentioned that the Panga actress asked if one of the officers can visit her Manali residence for the statement while she also suggested if they can connect through video calling where they can record the statement. On the other hand, Kangana's team took to their Twitter handle and shared a screenshot of Rangoli's conversation with a police officer talking about Kangana recording her statement. The tweet read that Kangana was casually summoned by the police.
The tweet read, "There is no formal summon sent to Kangana, Rangoli keeps getting casual calls from the cops for past 2 weeks, Kangana wants to record a statement but we don’t get any response from @mumbaipolice, Here’s a screenshot of message Rangoli Ji sent to @mumbaipolice."
